Kasteeltuinen Arcen, located in the picturesque village of Arcen in the beautiful Maasduinen of North Limburg, is one of the most versatile flower and plant parks in Europe. Stimulate your senses, relive the history and discover the more than 15 unique gardens that are laid out around a historic country estate with a 17th century castle. Kasteeltuinen Arcen is open until November 1, 2020.
Stroll through the park and enjoy all the scents and colors in the various gardens, the many pond areas and the beautiful views and relax at one of the many seating areas. Each garden offers a new, green experience and varies in size and style. In the shadow of the Castle is the Rhododendron Garden with a beautiful collection of Rhododendrons. The Baroque Rosarium is the showpiece of the park with 10 themed rose rooms and more than 8,000 rose bushes. Strolling through the Bamboo Forest and the Oriental Water Garden, you imagine yourself in Southeast Asia. The subtropical greenhouse Casa Verde is planted with fig trees, palms and cactuses. There are also smaller themed gardens such as the Italian garden, the Acer garden or the Vegetable garden.
Fun for the whole family
There is also plenty of fun for children. They go on a discovery tour in the park with the treasure hunt, show their skills on the adventurous miniature golf course, romp on the playing beach with a raft and feed the animals in the meadows.
Large sculpture exhibition by Sweetlove
This season you will experience a sculpture exhibition by artist William Sweetlove in the renovated Water and Sculpture Garden. Sweetlove is known for its giant colorful images of animals and people, all of which carry an attribute such as wellies or a large bottle on the back. These attributes symbolize climate change and how nature responds to it. In the large garden complex, the large colorful images contrast amazingly well with the natural green background. An exhibition not to be missed!
