Central Limburg: ideal for a day out, a weekend away, a short break or a longer holiday. Choose a luxury hotel, spend the night in the heart of the countryside or in a lively city centre, whichever you prefer.
There is plenty to see, do and experience for adults and children alike. You’ll find an overview of many of the events being held in Central Limburg on this website.
Shopping, cycling, walking, hiking, outdoor pursuits or simply enjoying the peace and quiet: it’s all possible in the heart of Limburg.

If you love water sports, then the Maasplassen – the biggest water sports area in the Netherlands – is the place to be.
Scenic beauty is all around: two National Parks, cross-border areas of natural beauty, woods and heathlands and countless splendid parks and gardens.

And there is plenty to experience in terms of cultural heritage too. You can imagine yourself back in time in the beautiful old villages and elegant towns and cities, such as the diocesan city of Roermond, the ‘little white town’ of Thorn and the fortified town of Stevensweert. Evidence of the rich Roman Catholic past can still be seen in the area’s many churches.

Come to the shoppers’ paradise of Roermond and visit the largest Designer Outlet Center in the Benelux and Germany, within walking distance from the charming, historical city centre with its mix of nationwide chains and small speciality stores. The Retail Park and the Huis & Tuin Boulevard complete the range of shops available. Weert, the gateway to Limburg, has a bustling centre with plenty of shopping malls and lively squares.

But most of all, don’t forget to savour the local food and drink. You can literally taste the passion for local ingredients in the regional dishes served in the many cafés and restaurants.
